Here's a neat trick To have some fun and save some money! Turn that old UV camera filter or inexpensive UV into a Soft Focus/Mist type of filter. All you need is a can of flat black spray paint and the UV/Clear filter. Spray a very fine - and we mean very, very little - black dusting on the back side of the filter, the side with the threads that screw into the lens. You might want to try spraying on a blank piece of paper first. Like magic, you will have a very interesting soft filter which
sells
for over $50 in the 77mm size from one of the major filter
manufacturers. |
| Don't worry if you
sprayed on
too much paint - just clean it off and start again. Want a warm softener? Use an old 81B filter or a Tiffen 812 filter. Want a clear softener? Try using clear spray, just use very little. |
