Red 
Lightens reds and deepens greens.  Blue skies become almost black.  Gives greatest contrast to pictures.  Skin tones are lighter and freckles are less prominent.  Autumn foliage is lightened.  Underexpose for moonlight effects in sunlight, or combine with Polarizer for stunning landscapes.

Orange
Lightens yellow, oranges, and reds, while deepening blues dramatically.  Pictures have more pronounced contrast than with Yellow filter.  Blue skies and marine scenes are ideal subjects.

Yellow
Lightens yellows, and slightly deepens blues and purples.  When used for landscapes, gives blue skies a natural appearance, and selineates clouds.  Also good for natural, light skin tones.

Green
Lightens greens and deepens reds and blues.  Gives good detail delineation to landscapes.  Deepens skin tones, and separates tones in multicolored subjects, such as flower gardens.
